The Layton Christian Academy Eagles will be playing at home against the Mountain View Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. In what's become a running theme this season, Layton Christian Academy gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 62-32 win over Uintah. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-12.
Layton Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Vuk Zarubica, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Otavio Armani, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Mountain View scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They snuck past Timpanogos with a 74-68 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mountain View to victory, but perhaps none more so than Conner Fairbanks, who scored 24 points along with six assists and six steals. Simeon Suguturaga was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds.
Layton Christian Academy pushed their record up to 19-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Mountain View, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Layton Christian Academy have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 34.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Mountain View struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.2 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
