Volleyball Recap: Humboldt Beats Southeast for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Humboldt came tearing into Saturday's contest with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Southeast Lancers. That's more bragging rights for the Cubs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Humboldt took both sets by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-11.

Ricklyn Hillmon paced Humboldt's offense, picking up 11 kills. Hillmon got some help from Lakyn Meadows and her 13 assists. Brynna Ellis controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Humboldt's record now sits at 27-9. As for Southeast, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-18-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Humboldt will head out to take on Eureka at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southeast, they will venture away from home to challenge Girard at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
