Hector extended the longest winning streak in 2A Region 4 this week by beating Parkers Chapel, 14-13. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Wildcats.
Hector and the Trojans played the closest game in the league this week, with Hector eventually emerging with a 14-13 victory.
Union Christian Academy's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Braxton Smith threw for 261 and 2 touchdowns and Joel Murdock had 97 yards receiving. On the ground Hunter Hammond contributed 90 yards. Will Callaway helped Union Christian Academy's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 61 yards.
He went 27-45 with 2 interceptions.
Smith put up the best numbers through the air as the Eagles lost to Magnet Cove. Smith's favorite target this week was Murdock, who caught 6 passes for 97 yards.
Union Christian Academy's Smith and Callaway led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-5 quarterback Smith has thrown for 2,718 yards this season, while Callaway has 67 catches for 905 yards. Mark Taylor's team's Gus Nichols leads the league in rushing yards with 1,053.
So far this year, he has acheived 67 catches for 905 yards.
In 125 carries Allen Castaneda has put up 961 yards this year.
Mountainburg lost to Rison 58-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Quency Pixley threw for 109 yards and 1 touchdown in the defeat.
