The Sterling Silver Knights''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were outmatched by Haddonfield at home and fell 49-8. Haddonfield was led to victory by Declan McCarthy and Kai Richards. McCarthy rushed for five yards and a touchdown, while Richards rushed for 50 yards and a touchdown. Richards was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards. Matt Zappetti was in the mix too, providing Haddonfield with two touchdowns.
Sterling's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 2.0 points per game. As for Haddonfield, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.
Sterling does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Haddonfield will look to defend their home field on Friday against Raritan at 7:00 p.m. Raritan will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while Haddonfield is ranked 46th).
