Winning is just a little bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 25% better than the opposition, a fact the Norfolk Catholic Knights proved on Tuesday. They came out on top against O'Neill by a score of 48-37. The win made it back-to-back wins for Norfolk Catholic.
Leading Norfolk Catholic to victory were Eva Hartzell and Sidonia Wattier. Hartzell scored 19 points along with six rebounds, while Wattier scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wattier has scored at least a third of Norfolk Catholic's points.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Presley Heiss, who scored 11 points.
Norfolk Catholic's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for O'Neill, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Norfolk Catholic will be playing at home against Boone Central at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for O'Neill, they will head out on the road to challenge West Holt at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Holt has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
