The Twin Valley Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge Rivendell Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Twin Valley was handed a three-point loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against the Eagles on Friday. Twin Valley simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Eagles 65-34 on the road. That 31 point margin sets a new team best for Twin Valley this season.
Twin Valley can attribute much of their success to Noah Dornburgh, who scored 20 points along with five assists and five rebounds, and Brayden Brown, who scored 22 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least a third of Twin Valley's points. Another player making a difference was Steven Oyer, who scored four points along with five rebounds and five blocks.
Meanwhile, Rivendell Academy was able to grind out a solid win over the Rebels on Friday, taking the game 68-57. The win made it back-to-back wins for Rivendell Academy.
Twin Valley's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Rivendell Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-6.
Twin Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 58-54 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Twin Valley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
