Hatton and Lawrence County are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Hatton Hornets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lawrence County Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Hatton escaped with a win against Phil Campbell by the margin of a single free throw, 49-48. The victory was just what Hatton needed coming off of a 66-43 defeat in their prior match.
Meanwhile, Lawrence County's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They walked away with a 43-31 victory over Wilson.
Lawrence County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alivia Terry out in front who scored 15 points along with 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Terry has scored at least 25% of Lawrence County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Graham, who scored 8 points.
Hatton now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lawrence County, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
Hatton didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Lawrence County in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 54-48 win. Will Hatton repeat their success, or does Lawrence County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
