The West Branch Warriors entered their tilt with the Streetsboro Rockets with ten consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 11. West Branch narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Streetsboro 31-28.
West Branch's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Boston Mulinix, who rushed for 143 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Thomas, who gained 94 total yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Streetsboro still got an impressive performance from Preston Hopperton, who rushed for 200 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Cohen Klimak, who rushed for 97 yards.
West Branch's victory was their seventh straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 11-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.6 points per game. As for Streetsboro, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-2.
West Branch will head out on the road to face off against Canton South at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Canton South is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Streetsboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
