Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Quabbin Regional should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They will challenge Maynard on the road at 7:00 PM. If the contest is anything like the 55-44 finish from the last time they met, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.
Quabbin Regional had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They came up short against Northbridge last week, falling 0-14. The matchup was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Quabbin Regional were outplayed the rest of the way.
Maynard had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victor by a 27-0 margin over Uxbridge. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Maynard had established a 20-0 advantage.
Maynard's win lifted them to 1-0 while Quabbin Regional's defeat dropped them down to 0-1. Quabbin Regional's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Maynard defensive front that amassed 6 sacks against Uxbridge, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
