The Barnwell Warhorses are taking a road trip to face off against the South Aiken Thoroughbreds at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Barnwell will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak.
Barnwell lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Colleton County, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's game. The Warhorses were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Cougars on Monday. The Warhorses might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Jaidyn Devore was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kendall O'Berry, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Genesis Walker was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, South Aiken made easy work of Aiken on Tuesday and carried off a 16-2 win. That looming 16-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Thoroughbreds yet this season.
Like Barnwell, South Aiken also got a great game from a two-way player: Skyler Gray. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Gray was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, South Aiken let Adaline Allen and Emma Sturgell run wild. Allen got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Sturgell got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Alexis Meyer, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Barnwell's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for South Aiken, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-20.
South Aiken's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Barnwell hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. It's a different story for South Aiken, though, as they've only averaged .248. Will they be able to contain Barnwell's hitters?
Barnwell beat South Aiken 10-7 in their previous matchup back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warhorses since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
