Greer is 10-0 against Berea since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Greer Yellow Jackets are on the road again and play against the Berea Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on December 11th. Hopefully Greer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
Last Friday, Greer was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 51-50 to Blue Ridge.
Despite the defeat, Greer had strong showings from Amiyah Clark-Lamelle, who scored 21 points along with 8 assists and 7 rebounds, and Jalasia Lewis, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. The game was Clark-Lamelle's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Jackson, who scored 2 points along with 4 blocks.
Meanwhile, Berea took a serious blow against Travelers Rest on Friday, falling 51-24.
Greer has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Berea, they bumped their record down to 2-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Greer against Berea in their previous matchup two weeks ago as the squad secured a 70-31 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Greer since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
