Baseball Recap: Middle Tennessee Monarchs Takes a Loss

Middle Tennessee Monarchs was the 7-3 winner over Cannon County when they last played one another back in April of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. Middle Tennessee Monarchs fell just short of Cannon County by a score of 5-4 on Friday. Middle Tennessee Monarchs has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bishop Vines was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. He has become a key player for Middle Tennessee Monarchs: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-8 otherwise. Jacob Pelletier was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Middle Tennessee Monarchs' record now sits at 9-9. As for Cannon County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
