After flying high against the Veterans Warhawks last Friday, the Northside Eagles came back down to earth. Northside lost to Thomas County Central on the road by a decisive 31-16 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, Northside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Thomas County Central is ranked second).
Jayden Wright threw for 66 yards on ten of 16 attempts. Keron Milton jr. was his top target, picking up 48 receiving yards.
Leading Thomas County Central to victory were Trey Brenton and Jaylen Johnson. Brenton gained 152 total yards and a touchdown, while Johnson threw for 197 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
Northside's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Thomas County Central, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Northside will head out on the road to face off against Marist at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Marist will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Thomas County Central will take on St. Pius X Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
