After two games on the road, Gordon-Rushville is heading back home. They will take on the Bridgeport Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Gordon-Rushville scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They blew past Morrill 65-43. Gordon-Rushville pushed the score to 52-26 by the end of the third, a deficit Morrill cut but never quite recovered from.
Gordon-Rushville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Taylor Trinity out in front who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Trinity has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mckinley Grover, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Bridgeport put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Morrill 65-29 at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-13.
Gordon-Rushville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Bridgeport, their victory was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-0.
Gordon-Rushville took a serious blow against Bridgeport in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 75-40. Thankfully for Gordon-Rushville, Ruthie Loomis-goltl (who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
