Basketball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends California's Winning Streak

If California was riding high fresh off their 60-40 takedown of Boonville last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The California Pintos took a 63-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tipton Cardinals on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Pintos in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now lost four in a row.

Tipton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ava Schlotzhauer, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 17 rebounds. Schlotzhauer is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 25 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Madison Carvajal, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten steals.
