The Vincent Yellow Jackets will face off against the Childersburg Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Vincent took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Comer with a sharp 20-2 win. The Yellow Jackets haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Madisyn King was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Another player making a difference was Natalie Schiller, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
Vincent always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Comer only posted an OBP of .429.
Meanwhile, Childersburg never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past Comer 20-0. Childersburg not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since February 14th.
Jade Landers looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Madison Brooks, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 11 contests. DeQiya Marbury was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.
Vincent pushed their record up to 10-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Childersburg, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-13.
Vincent couldn't quite finish off Childersburg in their previous meeting back in March and fell 4-2. Will the Yellow Jackets have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
