The Thunder Ridge Titans fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Blackfoot Broncos on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Broncos 47-41. Thunder Ridge lost against Blackfoot in their previous head to head back in November, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 54-47 score last time.
It was another big night for Marlee Pieper, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds for Blackfoot. That makes it three consecutive games in which Pieper has scored at least 25% of Blackfoot's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendylan Anderson, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Thunder Ridge bumped their record down to 3-7 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Blackfoot, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.
Thunder Ridge will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rocky Mountain at 6:30 p.m. on December 28th. Rocky Mountain presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Thunder Ridge in Idaho (Rocky Mountain is ranked 13th, while Thunder Ridge is ranked 101st). Blackfoot will be home for the holidays to greet Snake River at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
