The Lorain Titans can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They put the hurt on Garfield Heights with a sharp 67-44 victory. That's another feather in the cap for Lorain, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Lorain got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jelynn Carrington out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Carrington pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ca'milynne Shiellds, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Despite the loss, Garfield Heights saw an underclassman step up: Journey Rencher scored 23 points. Rencher is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight.
Lorain's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Garfield Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.
Lorain will be playing in front of their home fans against the Middies at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Midview is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Garfield Heights, they will head out on the road to take on the at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Varsity Opponent is out to stop a seven-game streak of losses at home.
