The USC-MAE Trojans lost against the Downtown Magnets Suns back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. USC-MAE ended up on the wrong side of a tough 60-40 walloping at the hands of Downtown Magnets. USC-MAE has not had much luck with Downtown Magnets recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Downtown Magnets' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Yuri Hernandez, who scored 15 points. The matchup was Hernandez's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Huang, who scored 14 points along with five assists and three steals.
USC-MAE's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-5. As for Downtown Magnets, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. USC-MAE will take on Animo Bunche at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Downtown Magnets, they will head out on the road to face off against Annenberg at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Annenberg is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
