Softball Recap: Murphysboro's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After only two runs in their last match, Murphysboro made sure to put some runs up on the board against Nashville on Wednesday. The Red Devils were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Hornets. The Red Devils not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 19th.

Blaire Fox made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Fox was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Macey Alexander, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Macie Cunningham, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
