Two dominant signal callers in Jacob Rosenstiel and Brayden Jennings are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. Geneva will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Brentwood Christian Bears at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Geneva focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up four on Friday.
After a string of four wins, Geneva's good fortune finally ran out. They were beaten by Holy Cross 74-7. The low total for Geneva limited their streak of high-flying scores to seven in a row.
Meanwhile, Brentwood Christian had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Legacy Prep Christian Academy by a score of 34-27 on Friday. The win was just what Brentwood Christian needed coming off of a 48-0 defeat in their prior game.
Brentwood Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jennings out in front who rushed for 137 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 203 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.3% of his passes. Jennings really tore up the turf during one magnificent 77-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Best, who picked up 143 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Holy Cross' win bumped their season record to 8-2 while Geneva's loss dropped theirs to 6-4.
Geneva didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Brentwood Christian in their previous meeting back in October, but they still walked away with a 49-43 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Brentwood Christian's Jennings, who rushed for 158 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry, and also threw for 160 yards and four touchdowns. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Geneva still be able to contain him? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
