Baseball Game Preview: Kokomo Wildkats vs. Muncie Central Bearcats

For the second straight game, Kokomo will face off against Muncie Central. The Wildkats will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. Kokomo will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

Kokomo is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Muncie Central with a sharp 11-1 win on Tuesday. The Wildkats not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 14, 2024 (when they won 16-6).

Isaac Flamino tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. He also allowed no hits, which is notable because Kokomo is 2-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 1-3 otherwise.

At the plate, Ben Carey was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with five RBI and one run. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two). Another player making a difference was Brody Bagwell, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Kokomo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Muncie Central is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9. As for Kokomo, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season.
