Allen is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Prosper is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. Allen will welcome Prosper at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Allen knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Prosper likes a good challenge.
Allen hadn't beaten Plano West on the road since February 16, 2023 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Eagles walked away with a 10-5 victory over the Wolves.
Yahmadi Morgan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Adyson Fincanon, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashtyn Kotaska, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Allen kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 11 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Prosper made easy work of McKinney on Monday and carried off a 16-1 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.
Bella Acuff looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four).
On the hitting side, Abigail Watney was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Bella Lopez was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Allen's victory bumped their record up to 22-3. As for Prosper, their win bumped their record up to 14-10.
Allen's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's matchup. Allen has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Prosper, though, as they've been averaging only 0.9 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Allen continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Allen's way against Prosper in their previous meeting back in March, as Allen made off with an 8-0 victory. Does Allen have another victory up their sleeve, or will Prosper turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
