Football Game Preview: Weleetka Outlaws vs. Thackerville Wildcats

The Weleetka Outlaws will head out to square off against the Thackerville Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Weleetka knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Thackerville likes a good challenge.

Weleetka is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Oklahoma's top teams: Cyril, who was ranked tenth at the time (Weleetka was ranked second). The Outlaws blew past the Pirates 58-30 on Friday. The Outlaws' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Isaiah Drake produced another solid performance rushing for 219 yards and five TDs while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also throwing for 192 yards and one touchdown on only 13 passes. Those five rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bryant Sites, who gained 151 total yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Weleetka was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 394 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 183 rushing yards in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Thackerville is still winless after their matchup against Strother on Friday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Yellowjackets.

Thackerville's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Weleetka, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.

Everything came up roses for Weleetka against Thackerville in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 50-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Outlaws since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
