Wright Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Mingo Valley Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Mingo Valley Christian had a senior duo take command as Gunner Hitchcock dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds and Isaiah McLemore scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which McLemore has scored at least a third of Mingo Valley Christian's points. Matthew Clary was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds.
Wright Christian's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Mingo Valley Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wright Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mingo Valley Christian at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. As for Mingo Valley Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Lakewood Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lakewood Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mingo Valley Christian in Oklahoma (Lakewood Christian is ranked 104th, while Mingo Valley Christian is ranked 224th).
