The Roosevelt Presidents are taking a road trip to take on the Wallkill Panthers at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Roosevelt will be strutting in after a victory while Wallkill will be coming in after a loss.
On Monday, Roosevelt made easy work of Red Hook and carried off a 9-3 win. That looming 9-3 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Presidents yet this season.

Brennan Paul was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Shea Montgomery, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Wallkill's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Beacon by a score of 5-4. Panthers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Bulldogs since on Tuesday.
Mason Franklin put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Franklin was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.
Franklin wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Daley, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Zach Kantor was another, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.
Wallkill's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Roosevelt, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Roosevelt has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Wallkill struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Roosevelt might still be hurting after the 7-0 loss they got from Wallkill in their previous meeting last Tuesday. Can the Presidents avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
