The Sedan Devils were the 56-42 winner over the West Elk Patriots when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Sedan fell 59-46 to the Patriots on Tuesday. It was the first time this season that Sedan let down their fans at home.
West Elk was led to victory by Uriah Tillapaugh and Maddex Moreno. Tillapaugh scored 21 points along with eight rebounds, while Moreno scored 20 points along with eight steals. Another player making a difference was Kase Kill, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Sedan's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-5. As for West Elk, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Sedan will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Udall is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for West Elk, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
