Softball Recap: Classical Academy Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Classical Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on the Orange Glen Patriots with a sharp 18-1 victory on Thursday. The Caimans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Eleri Evans made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kalia Gonzalez was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Sydney Bischoff was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Classical Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win got Classical Academy back to even at 10-10. As for Orange Glen, they dropped their record down to 7-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coincidentally, Classical Academy and Orange Glen will both be playing Guajome Park Academy the next time they take the field. The Patriots will host the Frogs at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Caimans will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
