Greater Sacramento League Top Player Performances of the Week
Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Thursday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!
Aubrey Stewart Delivers Best Effort of Season
On Thursday, Fairfield got the W thanks in part to Aubrey Stewart playing the best football she has all season. Stewart rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 261 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of her passes. The performance marked the most rushing yards she has had since back in September. Fairfield is undefeated when Stewart posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 3-4 otherwise.
Burbank had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Stewart it was a similar story. Back in September (the last time Stewart saw the Titans), she rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, and also threw for 183 yards and two touchdowns.

Sariah Williams' Big Game Leads Fairfield over Burbank
Sariah Williams was instrumental in extending Fairfield's winning streak to eight on Thursday. Williams turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 140 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, while also picking up 76 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Her longest rush was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain her lofty yards per carry total.
If history really does repeat itself, Williams might just drop another big game when she faces off against Johnson on Thursday. Williams rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries the last time she and the Warriors duked it out back in September.

Jaleia Ware Puts an End to Armijo's Losing Streak on Thursday
Armijo's three-game losing streak is now nothing but a memory thanks in part to Jaleia Ware. Ware was dynamite on Thursday, picking up 107 receiving yards and three touchdowns. She also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making four total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging two interceptions which she returned for a touchdown.
The victory got Armijo back to even at 7-7. Ware and Armijo will challenge West Campus at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Winning always takes teamwork, but on Thursday Deyonce Espinal stepped things up a notch to give Valley the 'W'. West Campus had no answer to Espinal as she made two total tackles and defended two passes. Espinal also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Valley is 3-1 when she posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 5-6 otherwise.
Espinal must have West Campus' number; she was a force to be reckoned with the last time she faced them too. Back in September (the last time Espinal saw the Warriors), she made a tackle and snagged four interceptions.
