Capistrano Valley Christian added to the longest winning streak in San Joaquin this week by beating Fairmont Prep, 42-7. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Eagles.
Santa Clarita Christian scaled the state rankings by moving to 696 from 726 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Cardinals climbed the ranks as a result of topping Frazier Mountain 30-22.
Riley Babick threw for 240 yards and 4 touchdowns. He was 18-24 with 0 interceptions.
Ben Sukut was the best wideout in the league this week as Capistrano Valley Christian topped the Huskies. Sukut tallied 10 receptions for 151 yards. Mike Updegraff helped Capistrano Valley Christian's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 45 yards.
Capistrano Valley Christian's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Babick has thrown for 1,523 yards and 24 touchdowns this season, while Sukut has 48 catches for 681 yards.
One of San Joaquin's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when Dan Dodd's team and Santa Clarita Christian face off next week.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Garrick Moss' team takes on the Eagles. At the moment, the Cardinals are in third, while Capistrano Valley Christian is in first.
Southlands Christian fell to Saddleback Valley Christian 83-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
