The Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Morton Potters at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mahomet-Seymour will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 291st, while Morton is ranked 25th).
After soaring to 62 points the game before, Mahomet-Seymour were a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They were outmatched by Sacred Heart-Griffin at home and fell 62-24. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mahomet-Seymour has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Morton strolled past Canton with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 49-30.
Mahomet-Seymour bumped their record down to 7-12 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Morton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
Mahomet-Seymour might still be hurting after the 47-23 defeat they got from Morton when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Mahomet-Seymour avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
