Dracut gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Greater Lowell Tech Gryphons. This was payback for the Middies, who suffered a 3-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

While Dracut might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Greater Lowell Tech scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 17-25, 25-18, 25-23.

Leila Amiepouopouo paced Dracut's offense, picking up 11 kills. Amiepouopouo got some help from Kelsey Hudon and her 22 assists. Kylanie Palacio controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Greater Lowell Tech now has a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dracut will venture away from home to face off against Central Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Greater Lowell Tech, they will head out to challenge Academy of Notre Dame at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
