David Crockett can't be too worried about heading out to take on Morristown-Hamblen West: they just beat Elizabethton at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Pioneers blew past the Fighting Cyclones 8-0 on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Madelyn Dulaney was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, David Crockett got a big performance out of Bailey Dugger, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Dugger a new career-high. Julie Maupin was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Morristown-Hamblen West's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of Greeneville by a score of 8-7.
Cadence Beaver stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored two runs while going 2-for-2. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kara Dyke, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Morristown-Hamblen West now has a losing record of 5-6. As for David Crockett, their record now sits at 17-3-1.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. David Crockett hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. However, it's not like Morristown-Hamblen West struggles in that department as they've averaged .341. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
