Softball Recap: Bonita Vista Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

While Bonita Vista put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Poway. The Barons were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Titans. The result was nothing new for the Barons, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Danica Aboytes made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April.

In other pitching news, Natalie Gonzalez tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

Aboytes wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kianna Balajadia-Brooks, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Ariana Magdaleno was another, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Bonita Vista has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. As for Poway, their defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-7.

As of now, neither Bonita Vista nor the Titans have any future games scheduled.
