The Bluffton Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season. They breezed by Southwood at home to the tune of 61-16. The victory was familiar territory for Bluffton who now have four in a row.
Bluffton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Marly Drayer led the charge by scoring nine points along with six rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Stout, who scored 18 points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Southwood struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Bluffton racked up 14 assists.
Bluffton pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Southwood, they have fallen quite a ways from their 19-6 record last season and are now at 2-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bluffton will be home for the holidays to greet Adams Central at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Southwood will be home for the holidays to greet Manchester at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Manchester knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Southwood likes a good challenge.
