Basketball Recap: Genoa Area Piles Up the Points Against Southview

Genoa Area won the last time they faced Southview and things went their way on Monday too. The Genoa Area Comets simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Southview Cougars 66-32. The Comets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 20 points or more this season.

Southview lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Mikayla Dorn, who posted eight points and seven boards. Amani Woodard was another key player, putting up six points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Genoa Area pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Southview, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Genoa Area will square off against Otsego at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Genoa Area is facing Otsego at the right time seeing as Otsego is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Southview, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Southview Cougars duke it out with the Napoleon Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
