The Chesapeake Cougars entered their tilt with the Chopticon Braves with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Chesapeake took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 47-7 victory over Chopticon. Considering Chesapeake has won four matchups by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Leading Chesapeake to victory were Keller Herzberger and Sean Carroll. Herzberger threw for 173 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, while Carroll gained 110 total yards and three touchdowns. Isaak Sears also helped out with an impressive 112 receiving yards.
Another reason for the win was Chesapeake's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Connor Wright and his two sacks.
Chesapeake's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Chopticon, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
Chesapeake will face off against Northeast at TBD on Friday. Northeast comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Chopticon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
