Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marin Catholic). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Novato Hornets on Saturday. The score was all tied up 2-2 at the break, but the Wildcats were the better team in the second half.

Marin Catholic's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Novato, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marin Catholic will take on Branson in a holiday battle at at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Marin Catholic's last six matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Novato, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Urban at 3:15 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
