The Dillon Wildcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Manning 66-32 on the road. Given Dillon's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Monarchs are ranked 240th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Dillon to victory were Mariah Campbell and Treasure Davis. Campbell scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Davis scored 28 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. Davis hasn't dropped below two steals for 13 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Khwnylahi Mckinnon, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Dillon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Manning, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-20.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Waccamaw the next time they take the court. Dillon will host the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Monarchs will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
