Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Bishop Gorman's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Bishop Gorman got themselves on the board against Silverado on Thursday, but Silverado never followed suit. They blew past the Skyhawks 20-0. The Gaels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

MAKAMAE EUGENIO made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on CHARLIE SIMI, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of SAMANTHA LEFEVER, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Bishop Gorman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Bishop Gorman has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Silverado, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.

Looking ahead, Bishop Gorman will be playing in front of their home fans against Centennial at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Silverado does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
