Fans got a thrill when Max Partlo and Trae Hart connected against Lake Country Christian. The connection was good for 63 yards, the longest such play in TAPPS Division III District 3 this season.
First Baptist took down the Eagles 70-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Partlo threw for 186 yards and 5 touchdowns during the win.
Garland Christian Academy's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Braxton Berry threw for 464 and 8 touchdowns and Caine Robbins had 249 yards receiving. On the ground Berry chipped in 128 yards. Berry has thrown for 1,885 yards and 22 touchdowns this season, while Robbins has 32 catches for 897 yards. Berry also leads the league in rushing with 346 yards.
The Swordsmen's Berry is within 115 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Coram Deo Academy.
The Saints made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,524 from 4,845. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 70-0 victory over Lake Country Christian last week.
