On Monday, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond had to suffer through a rough 77-44 loss at the hands of St. Anthony. While losing is never fun, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 371st, while St. Anthony is ranked 139th).
Despite the defeat, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond got a solid performance out of Claire Seal, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 rebounds. Seal scored a full 45.5% of Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond's points, the 14th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Sara Herschberger, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Unity Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 56-21 loss at the hands of Tri-Valley. Unity Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-9.
This is the second loss in a row for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond and nudges their season record down to 7-7. As for Unity Christian, they bumped their record down to 1-10 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Everything went Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond's way against Unity Christian when the teams last played back in January as Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond made off with a 63-43 win.
