The Northwest Vikings were the 42-37 winner over the Crete Cardinals when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Northwest fell just short of Crete by a score of 43-40. Northwest has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Northwest's lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kyla Sybrandts, who scored 8 points along with 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Mcintyre, who scored 11 points along with 4 steals.
It was another big night for Marin Rasgorshek, who scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 blocks for Crete. Amelia Hohlen was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
Northwest now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Crete, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Northwest will head out on the road to face off against Malcolm on Tuesday. Crete will be home for the holidays to greet Fairbury at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
