The Assumption Mustangs and the Northwest Raiders squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Assumption Mustangs had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 46-44. Assumption's loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Assumption still got an impressive performance from Reece Turner, who rushed for 116 yards and five touchdowns.
Assumption's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Northwest, the last time they lost on the road was back back in September. Having now won five straight away matches, they've pushed their record up to 10-3.
Assumption does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Northwest will face off against Cecilia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Cecilia's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games.
