Baseball Recap: Hattiesburg's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Hattiesburg entered their tilt with Terry on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over the Bulldogs. Considering the Tigers have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Amari Hill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tyler Weatherspoon was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Quentin Reuben, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Hattiesburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Hattiesburg's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-5. As for Terry, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hattiesburg beat Terry by a score of 16-0 later that day.
