Tice wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Woodruff, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Tupelo Christian Prep had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They skirted past the Hilltoppers 8-6.
Like Wheeler, Tupelo Christian Prep also got a great game from a two-way player: Jax Coker. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Coker was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.
Wheeler's victory bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Tupelo Christian Prep, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
