After a string of three wins, the Brady Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were dealt a 59-26 defeat at the hands of Overton. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Brady in their matchups with Overton: they've now lost seven in a row.
Brady used a three-pronged attack on offense:
Kennedi Cook,
Lydia McGown, and
Payton Stienike posted six points each. Stienike also led the team in rebounds with 11.
Keaton Fattig took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
Ashlyn Florell continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Overton, scoring 13 points along with eight steals. Florell hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Natalie Wood was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Brady's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Overton, they pushed their record up to 14-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brady will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wallace at 4:00 p.m. on January 30th. Hopefully Wallace focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday. Overton won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Ansley/Litchfield at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Ansley/Litchfield has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 14.
