The River City Science Academy Rockets suffered their biggest loss since December 5, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against Harvest Community, falling 77-37. River City Science Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-19.
Harvest Community's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sean Murphy led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Elijah Carter was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and six steals.
River City Science Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season. As for Harvest Community, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. River City Science Academy will challenge Joshua Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Harvest Community, Harvest Community and Tocoi Creek will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
