Saugus took down Chaminade on Saturday, a win that might not have happened without Taliya Mata's standout effort. Mata did her part (and then some), striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk) for the 'W'. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
