The Vertus Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Orchard Park Quakers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Vertus focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Wednesday.
Last Wednesday, Vertus had to suffer through a rough 96-54 loss at the hands of University Prep. Vertus has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Vertus' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Aiden Marshall, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds, and Dah'mere Brown who scored seven points along with three blocks. Those three blocks set a new season-high mark for him. Malachi Davis was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, Orchard Park gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They breezed by The Park School of Buffalo at home to the tune of 78-33.
Vertus now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Orchard Park, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-0.
